Community Outreach & Special Events

April is the center’s busiest month as it is recognized nationwide as Child Abuse Prevention Month. The center also promotes Abuse & Neglect Prevention Awareness throughout the year at a variety of public events like:

  • Winchester Exchange Bowl-a-thon: Saturday, Date to be Announced
    Every year the Winchester Exchange club holds several Bowl-a-thons to help raise funds for the continued support of the CPC.  Put a team together, get people to sponsor your team, and come help strike out child abuse.  Local radio celebrities from Q102 are always on hand to help ensure a fun filled day by all.

    • Dinner & Charity Auction: Saturday, March 12, 2011

      Held annually around the end of March, the CPC offers people a great opportunity to enjoy a nice dinner and have some fun bidding on great merchadise gathered from the community and local businesses.   All proceeds benefit the CPC, help fund various community outreach programs, and allow the CPC to continue offering valuable services to families in need.

      • 21st Annual Doo Dah Day Festival: Saturday, April 16th, 2011

      Held annually each April, the CPC entertains about 7,000 kids and parents for a day of fun and family togetherness. Located in the Jim Barnett Park in Winchester, Doo-Dah Day offers over 30 different kids games (prizes given at each game), multiple rides and slides, local entertainment & demonstrations, magic shows, a parade, and family friendly foods. 

      Doo-Dah is a great way for families to get out and enjoy the spring weather, and spend some quality time together having fun.

      • Christmas Gift Wrap at the Apple Blossom Mall: Volunteers Wrap Up Child Abuse to Benefit the Winchester Exchange Child-Parent Center

      Held annually at the Apple Blossom Mall.  Volunteers wrap presents to benefit the Child-Parent Center programs.  Begins the Friday after Thanksgiving at Mall opening and runs during Mall open hours until 6 p.m. Christmas Eve (December 24th).

      This is a great time to volunteer to wrap presents or to have your presents wrapped.

      Black Friday, November until December 24th at 6 p.m.  Giftwrap Store is open the same hours as the Apple Blossom Mall.
